Accessibility Statement

Greek Strains wants this shop to be usable by everyone, including people who browse with a keyboard, a screen reader, a magnifier, or simply need larger text and stronger contrast. This statement sets out where the site stands today and what is still on our list.

Standard we work to

We aim for level AA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, the standard referenced by European standard EN 301 549 and by Greek law 4994/2022, which transposes the European Accessibility Act.

The site is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. Partially conformant means most of the standard is met and some parts are not yet verified.

What we have done

• Text and background colours across the site were measured and corrected. Our brand green is kept for graphics, borders and map markers, and a darker shade of the same green is used wherever green carries text.
• Keyboard focus is now visible on every interactive element, with a navy outline that stands out against the page.
• A Skip to content link appears on the first press of Tab, so keyboard users can jump past the header.
• Product cards expose one link instead of two, so the shop is faster to navigate by keyboard and clearer with a screen reader.
• Every page has a top-level heading, including pages whose design does not display a title.
• Images carry alternative text, form fields carry labels, and page language is declared so screen readers pronounce Greek correctly.
• Animations respect the reduce-motion setting of your operating system.

Known limitations

We would rather tell you what is missing than claim more than we can back up.

• The site has not yet been tested end to end with an actual screen reader. Our checks so far are measurements and code review.
• Behaviour at very high zoom levels has not been systematically verified.
• The age verification screen, the payment step and the map are partly provided by third parties, and we do not control every detail of how they behave.
• Older articles may contain images whose alternative text is thinner than we would like.
